Susan Kohlmann is a Partner at the firm Jenner & Block, and co-chairs the Firm’s trademark practice.
Susan has tackled some of the most significant issues the content, media, and entertainment industry has faced. Representing entertainment and media industry giants, including film studios and television networks, new technology companies, and others in media and entertainment, she deftly navigates clients at the convergence of content and technology. Susan litigates cases addressing critical issues threatening her clients’ ability to exploit their creative works and key brands and clarifies the reach and application of federal law to new technologies and their content distribution platforms.
Susan served as the President of the New York City Bar Association from 2022-2024. As President, Susan brought remarkable achievements and lasting impact to the New York legal community, and the international rule of law and justice across the globe. Susan’s election added to the legacy of women who have broken barriers in the legal field. Under Susan’s tenure, the Bar filed numerous reports, statements, and amicus briefs advocating across issues and continued to increase opportunities for underrepresented groups within the legal profession.
Susan received her BA from Yale University and her JD from Columbia University School of Law.
